Today: All the single ladies!
Actually, I just broke up and I can totally relate to Beyoncé’s songs right now. This is why Ryan and I came up with the idea for a BEYONCE ZINE
Ryan a great artist from London and I we make a Zine about Beyoncé in the next 2 weeks. We will produce, print and sell it. It’ll have 20 different pages about her with text, comics, thoughts, lyrics, portraits, typography, stuff from her videos etc. Ryan will add his great visual style of drawing celebs and I’ll dive into her emotions and things I can relate to. Like Beyonce is a visual icon and also a woman we (GIRLS) can identify with.
This mixtape is for all the broken hearted girls and single ladies out there and for me, cuz I’ll listen to her the next two weeks Beyoncé Zine Mixtape (arranged according to a relationship) You wanna be part of the process? Tell us what you love about Beyoncé!

Holi is a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus as a festival of colors. It is primarily observed in India and Nepal. It is also observed by the minority Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan as well in countries with large Indic diaspora populations.
Every year, thousands of Hindus participate in the festival Holi. The festival has many purposes. First and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was a festival that commemorated good harvests and the fertile land. Hindus believe it is a time of enjoying spring’s abundant colors and saying farewell to winter. It also has a religious purpose, commemorating events present in Hindu mythology.
Although it is the least religious holiday, it is probably one of the most exhilarating ones in existence. During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other, and celebrate wildly.
30 SECOND CHOCOLATE CAKE
by chowvida
Ingredients:
makes 1 single-serving cake
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- 5 tsp flour (I used white whole wheat)
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 tsp maple syrup or agave
- 3 tbsp vanilla soymilk (you could use rice, hemp, or regular milk instead)
- 1 tbsp (heaping) dark chocolate chips
Process:
- Get a small bowl, about 3″ diameter, and at least 2″ deep. You can mix all the ingredients directly in the bowl!
- In the small bowl, mix together dry ingredients, then add the vanilla, maple syrup and soymilk and mix together with a fork until well combined.
- Mix in the chocolate chips.
- Put in the microwave and cook on high for 30 seconds. NOTE: all microwaves vary… hopefully 30 seconds will work for most. If you can watch the cake through the door, you’ll see it start to really bubble and puff up to the rim of the bowl, once it does this, there should be about 5 seconds left. Don’t cook it too long or it will become dry! Nice thing is, it’s so easy, you can always whip up another one
- ENJOY immediately! Top with ice cream for an extra treat.
